Background
Darum provides a trustworthy platform that fosters timely and scalable delivery services with consideration to the most efficient cost, distance, and duration. Darum plans to create an integration between delivery-hailing service providers and their users.
Goal
Darum had launched a mobile application for everyday users to make single orders and a web app for business owners to make multiple orders at a go. The design project consisted of running a full redesign design of the app and allowing users to make multiple requests on the mobile app for easy adoption and to utilize other services offered.
My Role & Approach
I worked with the UX lead, Egbeyemi Ridwan, and developed the low-fidelity wireframes. Throughout the process, we collaborated closely with the customer care team. Identifying pain points in the current delivery experience and customer satisfaction. We carried out a competitive analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of other delivery companies. This assisted in making design decisions.

Low fidelity wireframe
After studying the data and references we went on to design the basic wireframe to have a clear overview of the page structures, flow, layout & orientation of the overall composition of the app.
Visual solution
Sign Up
Users get to select how they intend to use the app and provide basic details for KYC. Users can log in or sign up using a phone number. This is the easiest and fastest way for the user to quickly go to the main purpose of the application
Requesting a rider
The home page is seen immediately when the user signs in successfully. The users provide the needed details and request a ride. During the checkout process, the customer follows a series of steps to request a rider. This includes delivery details, payment options, and adding multiple delivery locations
Live tracking
A smart feature that lets you track the progress of your deliveries in real-time and stay updated.
Delivery estimate
Calculate the delivery cost of your items based on the location and number of items. This allows users to plan their delivery and budget for it.
Conclusion
Involving engineering upfront helps to reduce any rework later on as an understanding of the technical limitations upfront will help to inform your design strategy. Setting the tone of voice makes your app very intuitive and simple regardless of the numerous complexities.
